By sponsoring or participating in our invitational, you are increasing the Treetops Resort Endowment Fund which is instrumental in funding more students. This is crucial to allow us to continue providing our local students with the assistance they need.

Preference is given to those employees with multiple years of employment and students earning a degree in hospitality, food & beverage, PGA golf management, turf management, or hotel management. Students are currently eligible for $1,000 annually for four years.

FORMAT OF PLAY
Modified Scramble– 1 Professional (or Scratch Amateur) and 3 Amateurs.
- For teams without a Professional, you must designate a scratch amateur at the beginning of the TOURNAMENT and stay with the same scratch amateur for the course of the entire event.
- Each team MUST use a minimum of four tee shots per player, each day.
- All players may lift, clean, and place the ball within one club length of the spot where the original ball lay, no closer to the hole, in the GENERAL AREA. Any ball being played from a hazard may not be moved out of the hazard. On the putting green, place within 6” of the ball selected. You may not change the condition of your lie (for example; rough to fairway, fringe to green, out of hazards, long rough/ heather to short rough).
- Net team score is determined by deducting 15% of the combined amateur handicaps from the gross scramble score each day. The maximum allowable individual handicap is 18 for men and 27 for women.

Jones Masterpiece
What's in a name? Everything. Few courses can boast Robert Trent Jones, Sr. as their architect.
The property overlooks the Pigeon River Valley, featuring lush forests and rolling hills.
Established as one of the best resort courses in the United States,
it continues to be spectacular year after year.
Awards: Consistently ranked with 4½ stars from Golf Digest.

Smith Signature
Built in 1993, Signature was the first of three Rick Smith-designed courses at Treetops.
Smith drew upon his knowledge of Scottish and Irish golf courses to develop his
Signature design. The Signature course is a favorite among locals and out-of-town
visitors alike and is widely believed to have the most challenging greens on the
property. You'll find fast bentgrass greens, but pay attention because you will not
always know when you're putting up or downhill. Even if you're a scratch golfer, you may
leave Signature with a higher score than you're used to.
Awards: Ranked as "The Midwest: 25 More You Can Play" Rick Smith "Signature" ranked
#2 for the best of the Midwest. - Golf Magazine

Fazio Premier
When we invited legendary course designer Tom Fazio to visit the property, he couldn't
resist playing a role in developing Treetops Resort's golf courses. The Fazio Premier
opened in 1992 and maintains a 4.5-star rating from Golf Digest. To this day, Premier is
the only Fazio-designed golf course in the state of Michigan.
Awards: From its opening in 1992, Premier has maintained a
4.5-star rating from Golf Digest.

Smith Tradition
The Tradition was originally designed at Treetops by Rick Smith to be a walkable golf
course on a piece of rolling terrain that was much less severe than the 4 courses
previously designed at Treetops. Smith spent time in Ireland and Scotland to gain
inspiration for this build as well as his first design, the award-winning Signature. In 2022,
we are thrilled to unveil the new and improved Tradition as hundreds of trees have been
removed to begin the process restoring this course back to a modern links
course as originally intended.
Awards: Consistently ranked as a 4 ½ stars ranking from Golf Digest Magazine
since its opening.

Threetops
Don't let its size fool you, Threetops is an experience that you won't want to miss.
Unparalleled elevation from every tee boxes will satisfy even the pickiest of golfers.
Threetops was the first of three Rick Smith-designed courses at Treetops Resort.
Widely considered America's best par-3 course, Threetops was also recently named
one of the "Baddest Par 3 Courses in the US" by Links Magazine. You may remember
Threetops as the venue for the ESPN Par-3 Shootout for eight years. Hole #7 is where
Lee Trevino made an ace in 2001 and won the million-dollar prize. And he came back in
2021 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of what is widely
considered the richest shot in golf.
Awards: Voted as one of the best par-3 courses in the US in several publications.
