Even aside from our main summer attraction of golf, there are so many other activities to keep you and your friends or family busy. Most of our summer activities are also available during the spring and fall. Whether you want to stay close and play disc golf or volleyball at Treetops, or you want to venture out into Gaylord for adventures in horseback riding, canoeing, or ropes courses, there is something here for everyone.

Summer Activities in Gaylord

If for some reason you run out of things to do at Treetops, or you’re looking something a little different to do, the surrounding Gaylord area also has a lot to offer. Here are some of our suggestions for what to do in Gaylord during the summer.

Go-Karts and Putt Putt Golf - Located at the Bavarian Falls Park just behind Call of the Wild is an 18 hole putt putt adventure golf course and Go-Kart racing.

Boat Rentals - If you plan to go out on any of the nearby lakes you can rent pontoons, jet skis, and more from Boyne Watersports in Boyne City.

Community Demonstration Garden - This beautiful garden exists to educate the public on native plants and the importance of supporting ecosystems. It features native Michigan wildflowers, a children’s garden, and much more.

Downtown Gaylord Shopping - Visit the Alpine Village that is downtown Gaylord where they have many stores, shops, and some great restaurants.

Gaylord Attractions - Here is a list of some of the best attractions Gaylord has to offer, including fall color tours, elk viewing, and more.

Otsego County Historical Museum - Visit this small, but informative museum to learn more about the history of Gaylord and Otsego County. Admission is free!

Call of the Wild Museum - This museum is educational and fun for all. It includes about 60 displays of various North American animals and features a gift shop with a great selection.

Geocaching - Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunt using GPS-enabled devices. You can do it with your smartphone! Using GPS coordinates (the app will help you), you navigate to the item hidden at that location. Usually, it is a container with a logbook where you can date, sign your name and leave a note. There will probably be a number of items in the container (like rubber bands, pennies, little army men). You can leave an item and then take an item. There are a number of geocaches near Treetops and around Gaylord.

Otsego County Sportsplex - If outdoor conditions do not permit ice skating at Treetops you can head over to the Otsego County Sportsplex to skate on their indoor rink. They also offer yoga, spinning classes, and a pickleball court.

Odawa Casino - Take a trip to Petoskey to enjoy a night out at the Odawa Casino. A free shuttle from Treetops can be coordinated for a large enough group. Contact us at (866) 348-5249 to schedule.
