GOLF PRO SHOP
VOLUNTEER STARTERS FOR 2013 GOLF SEASON  Treetops is actively pursuing men and women interested in becoming a volunteer starter.  A Treetops Starter is responsible for welcoming guests, checking in golfers, helping maintain a good pace of play, completing cart rental agreements, helping keep the grounds clean, up selling resort services, etc.  A volunteer starter must be available to work two six-hour shifts per week and can submit their preferences for which days.

Volunteers will work in exchange for the following: Complimentary golf for themselves and their spouse; $50 gas card per summer; Pro-shop discounts; Meal discounts; Access to employee golf events.    

BAG DROP  Treetops is actively pursuing qualified candidates for the position of bag drop at both the North and South courses. Bag drop duties include greeting guests, loading clubs onto golf carts, washing clubs, maintaining cleanliness of golf carts, maintaining the driving range, upselling Resort services and other duties assigned by Management. Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.  

STARTER / RANGER  Treetops is actively pursuing qualified candidates for the position of Starter/Ranger. Treetops Starters and Rangers are responsible for greeting guests, keeping the tee sheet order, completing cart rental agreements, maintaining a favorable pace of play, helping keep the grounds clean, upselling Resort services and other duties assigned by Management. Interpersonal communicational skills are important! 

DRIVING RANGE ATTENDANT  Treetops is actively pursuing qualified candidates for the position of Driving Range Attendant. A Range Attendant is responsible for picking, washing and bagging range balls, keeping the driving range tidy, washing customer golf clubs and other duties as assigned by Management. Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license.

GOLF COURSE PHOTOGRAPHER  Treetops is actively pursuing qualified candidates for the position of Golf Course Photographer. A Golf Course Photographer is responsible for taking group photos on the #1 tee, handling of money, developing photos and delivering the photos to the guests. Outgoing and creativity are two preferred attributes.


BUILDING MAINTENANCE
BUILDING MAINTENANCE ENGINEER   Responsibilities include repair and maintenance of property facilities as well as guest rooms.  General maintenance of equipment and pools.  Some HVAC knowledge is preferred to help with heating and cooling issues.  Must have a valid drivers license, able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs., and be available to work evenings and weekends. 

Safety and Security Officer
Responsibilities include ensuring safety and security for all guests, patrolling the resort and north property facilities, responding to emergencies, reporting of incidents or accidents and handling of guest maintenance issues when maintenance is not available.  Occasional driving of guests to other locations.  Must have a valid drivers license and be 21 years of age or older. 

 

CHILD CARE DEVELOPMENT
CAMP PROGRAM DIRECTOR   The Camp Program Director has overall responsibility for operation of Camp in accordance with state licensing requirements and policies and philosophy of Camp Sylvan. The Program Director is also responsible for planning, preparing and implementing the daily schedule of activities and direct care of children. In the absence of the Director of Children’s Programs, the Camp Program Director has overall responsibility of Camp Sylvan.

Education Requirements:       Minimum of two years of college with 18 hours in Child Development or Elementary Education and current CPR & First Aid certificate.
Experience Requirements:     One or more years working in a similar program.

CAMP SYLVAN COUNSELORS  (Summer only (June – August)   Responsibilities include the direct care and supervision of children attending the summer camp, as well as planning and implementing activities and cleanliness of camp. Experience working with school age children in a group setting is preferred and/or a minimum of one year of college with classes related to children.  Current CPR and First aid certificate will be required. 
Education Requirements:       Minimum one year of college with classes or training related to children and current CPR & First Aide certificate.
Experience Requirements:     One or more years working in a similar program.

DAY CARE TEACHER ASSISTANT   Responsibilities include attending to the needs of preschool children, including meals, play, learning and the cleaning of the Center. Experience working with young children and school age children in a group is preferred. Must be 18 years or older, in good health, with a good a work ethic. Requires flexibility in scheduling and some weekend availability. Approximately 25 hours per week.

Education Requirements:       Minimum one year of college with classes or training related to children and current CPR & First Aide certificate.
Experience Requirements:     One or more years working in a similar program.


HOUSEKEEPING
ROOM ATTENDANT    Responsibilities include: Ensure that rooms are clean, neat and tidy at all times. React to concerns of guests, replace bed and bathroom linens, vacuum, dust and clean furniture, walls and drapes. Mopping of floors, scrubbing sinks, showers and toilets. Must be able to bend and lift 30 lbs. A valid driver’s license is helpful. Must be available on weekends.

PUBLIC SPACE ATTENDANT   Responsibilities include: Cleaning all public areas including restrooms, lobbies and pool areas, taking care of guest’s requests. Must be patient and friendly with all guests. Able to lift and bend. Valid driver’s license is necessary. Must be available on weekends.                    

HOUSE ATTENDANT   Responsibilities include stripping beds, retrieving garbage and linen from Room Attendant’s carts, stocking storage rooms, vacuuming hallways, transport of linen to the Laundry, and garbage to dumpsters. Must be self-motivated, an independent worker, honest and display high levels of energy. Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.

GOLF ATTENDANT   Responsibilities include, but are not limited to driving a golf cart, cleaning the bathrooms out on the golf courses and Pro Shops and stocking them, delivery and collection of laundry to golf course outlets, cleaning of public areas at Pro Shops and any other duties assigned by Manager or Supervisor. Must be self-motivated, an independent worker, honest, display high levels of energy and be able to follow directions. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift and bend. Must be available on weekends.

LAUNDRY ATTENDANT   This is a part time position. Responsibilities include washing, folding and ironing of linens from the whole Property. Must be able to bend and lift. Must be self-motivated, an independent worker, honest, display high levels of energy and be able to follow directions. Must be available on weekends.

ROOM CHECKER   Responsible for thoroughly checking rooms that have been cleaned before guests arrive. Must be very detail oriented! When not checking rooms, you will be cleaning rooms. See room attendant description above. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be available on weekends.

 

GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE

Must be willing to work outside in sunny and inclement weather

Responsibilities:      Raking, weeding, digging, lifting and haulingMaintenance of grass and flowers, bunkers, golf paths and other outside maintenance on Resort property

Requirements:        Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Drive a golf cart on hills. Arrive on time – 6:00 A.M. Available to work weekends        

Assistant-in-Training/Crew Foreman
Responsibilities:       Course setup, spraying, fertilizing, managing small crews, other daily tasks assigned by the Superintendent or Assistant. Must possess or be able to acquire a State of Michigan spray license within 30 days of hire. 

Requirements:        Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Drive a golf cart on hills.                         Arrive on time – 6:00 A.M. Available to work weekends

Landscaping
Responsibilities:      Using a lawn mower to mow clubhouse lawns, fertilizing lawns and flower beds, weeding flower beds, picking up trash, using a weed whip and hand blower, pruning trees and shrubs and any other task assigned by the Superintendent.

Requirements:        Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Drive a golf cart on hills. Arrive on time – 6:00 A.M. Available to work weekends

 

RESERVATIONS

RESERVATION AGENT   Primary responsibility is to capture sales from incoming and outgoing calls by utilizing selling techniques effectively. Ideal candidate is courteous, self-motivating and detail-oriented. Able to work in a fast paced environment with the Reservation and Sales Team and possess a positive, polite and upbeat attitude while assisting prospective and existing guests. Effectively manage daily correspondences and operational tasks while demonstrating exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and telephone etiquette. Must have a thorough knowledge of MS Windows and Office (Word, Excel, Outlook Explorer, etc.) as well as ability to type quickly and accurately. Knowledge of the NAVIS system is a plus, but not required.

Golf Tavern and Half-way House Cook and Bartender
Seasonal work.  Must be 18 years or older with a valid drivers license.  Light cooking duties, stocking, and bar tendering.  Looking for friendly, organized and outgoing personalities.  Alcohol or Food Safety Certification is helpful but not necessary.  Must be able to lift 40 lbs, and walk or stand for long periods of time.  Availability on weekends.

Beverage Cart Attendant
Seasonal work.  Must be 18 years or older with a valid drivers license.  Responsibilities include providing refreshments to customers during their golf rounds in a friendly and engaging manner.  Good money handling as well as driving of beverage cart is required.  Looking for friendly, organized and outgoing personalities.  Must be able to bend and lift a minimum of 40 lbs.   Alcohol or Food Safety Certification is helpful but not necessary.  Must be available on weekends.

Delivery and Cart Set-up Attendant
Seasonal work.  Assist with putting away food and beverage product.  Stocking of beverage carts in the morning.  Some driving is required.  Must be able to bend and lift 40 lbs.  A valid drivers license is required. 
 

FOOD AND BEVERAGE (RESTAURANT)
Restaurant Server
Responsibilities include serving customers in a friendly and engaging manner.  Recording food orders, serving drinks and food, preparing the check, handling final cash transaction and clearing of table.   Must have good customer service skills, being organized and efficient.  Must also be able to work long shifts on your feet and bend and lift up to 40 lbs.  Knowledge of alcoholic beverages and alcohol service training is preferred.  Must be 18 years or older and available on weekends. 

Server Assistant
Assist wait staff in serving guests and clearing tables.  Help with greeting and seating of guests.  Emphasis on keeping dining and surrounding areas clean.  Must be able to lift 40 lbs, and walk or stand for long periods of time.  Looking for individuals who want to serve customers with urgency, pride and a SMILE.  Must be available weekends.

Host/Hostess
Greet and seat guests with enthusiasm and energy.  Must be organized and aware of specials, promotions, cleanliness, restaurant procedures and assist in making guest satisfaction our #1 priority.  Must be able to bend and lift.  Must be available weekends.

Restaurant Bartender
Must be able to communicate with customers in a friendly and engaging manner.  Includes serving drinks and/or food to customers and handling of cash transaction  Must have good customer service skills, being organized and efficient.  Must also be able to work long shifts on your feet and bend and lift up to 40 lbs.  Knowledge of alcoholic beverages and alcohol service training is preferred.  Must be 18 years or older and available on weekends.
 

FOOD AND BEVERAGE (CULINARY)
Line Cook / Banquet Cook
Responsibilities include preparation of food quickly to recipe and closing of the restaurant. Food handling must be as hygienically as possible. Proper storage, dating and labeling of food as well as proper use, cleaning and storage of kitchen equipment is a must.  Position requires knowledge of food and knife skills as well as proper techniques in food preparation.  Must be able to multitask and lift up to 40 lbs.  Must be available nights and weekends.

Steward
Responsibilities include washing of dishes, sweeping and mopping of floors and trash removal. Additional cleaning and sanitation projects as needed.  Must be able to work quickly, listen and follow directions.  Must also be able to lift 40 lbs. and bend, doing tasks in a repetitive manner.  Available nights and weekends.

Prep Cook / Food Expeditor
Responsibilities include expediting food from kitchen to dining room, and helping with preparation of food during slow periods.  Food handling must be as hygienically as possible. Proper storage, dating and labeling of food as well as proper use, cleaning and storage of kitchen equipment is a must.  Must be able to multitask and lift up to 40 lbs.  Must be available nights and weekends.

 

GUEST SERVICES
FRONT DESK AGENT  
Responsibilities include:  attend to guests upon their arrival at the Resort.  Provide information to guests regarding facilities of the hotel.  Taking messages, handling inquiries and complaints of guests, ensuring the safety and security of all guests.  Must have good computer skills.  Updating reservation and/or package details in computer is required.

GUEST SERVICES NIGHT AUDITOR  
Responsibilities include handling the daily/overnight accounting procedures for customer’s lodging as well as any front desk issues at night.  Must have good computer skills.  This is a part time, overnight position. 

SHUTTLE DRIVER  
Responsibilities include transporting guests from Resort to North Golf property.  Picking up guests at the airport and some transporting of guests into town.  Must have a Class C CDL drivers license to transport guests using the Treetops shuttle bus.   Available hours can vary from 15–40 per week during the golf season.  Winter ski season hours are also available.

PBX ATTENDANT  
Responsibilities include answer the Resort phone and radio.  Log in maintenance and other departmental issues.  Notify and follow-up with the progress of repair or correction.  Assist when needed at Front Desk.


BANQUET/CONFERENCES
Banquet Set-up
Understand and be able to set a room by reading written instructions (BEO), as well as set up and operation of audio visual equipment.  Carry or move tables and chairs in a timely manner, set up and cleaning of meeting rooms.  Able to bend, carry and lift up to 40 lbs.  Must have a valid driver license, preference age over 21 years.  Must be available days, nights and weekends.

Banquet Wait staff Supervisor
Communicate with customers in friendly and engaging manner.  Understand and be able to serve a meal by reading written instructions (BEO).  Work as a team with other wait staff and kitchen staff,  including dining room set up and cleaning.  Run pre meal meetings, diagram and assign duties, billing and gratuity allocations, wait staff scheduling and weekly beverage and dry good ordering.  Must be able to bend, carry and lift up 40 lbs.  Must be able to work long shifts on your feet.  Valid driver license required and preference age over 21 years.

Banquet Wait Staff

Banquet Bartenders
Communicate with customers in friendly and engaging manner.  Responsible for proper sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages (includes checking I.D.)  Work as a team with other banquet and kitchen staff, including restocking and helping with dining room set up and cleaning.  Must be able to bend, carry and lift up 40 lbs.  Must be able to work long shifts on your feet.  Valid driver license is preferred and must be age of 18 years or older.

Golf Bag Drop Attendant
Bag drop duties include greeting guests, loading clubs onto golf carts, washing clubs, maintaining cleanliness of golf carts, maintaining the driving range, upselling Resort services, and other duties as assigned by Management.  Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs., drive a golf cart, and be available on weekends.  Must also be willing to work outside in sunny and inclement weather.  We are looking for young men and women with leadership skills and heightened awareness to detail.  Age requirement is 16 years of age or older.

Golf Driving Range Attendant

Guest Services – PBX Attendant
General responsibilities include:  Answering resort phone and directing calls accordingly.  Must learn resort and golf locations, managers and activities to better assist guests.  There are also maintenance logs to be updated.  Computer skills are required to assist with other duties at the Front Desk.  Age requirement is 16 years of age or older.

Food & Beverage – Server Assistant
Greet and seat guests with enthusiasm and energy.  Assist wait staff in serving guests and clearing tables.  Emphasis on keeping dining and surrounding areas clean.  Must be able to bend and lift 40 lbs., walk or stand for long periods of time, available to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.  Looking for individuals who want to serve guests with urgency, pride and a SMILE.  Age requirement is 16 years of age or older.
