Meet the Sales Staff



Russ Glasby :: Director of Sales


As Director of Sales for Treetops Resort, Michigan’s Most Spectacular Resort, Russell D. Glasby brings over 20 years of experience in business management, strategic planning and resource allocation. Glasby’s progressive background includes experience in leadership roles within the hospitality industry including golf course management; food and beverage management; building, grounds and maintenance management; marketing; retail operations; and customer service programs.



Mitzie Hoeh :: Sales Manager

Wedding Ceremony & Receptions

After graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, I was employed as a retail manager and sales manager. Prior to my arrival at Treetops, I spent the most recent 7 years substitute teaching and working as an instructional assistant to be on the same schedule as my son. Before that, I enjoyed 13 years at a Resort a couple hours away, 10 of the years as a Conference Manager, then a Catering Manager. I earned a certification as a CMP (certified meeting professional) during that time and worked to hone my social market skills and grow that part of the business with them. Most importantly, I met & married my husband of 17 years there. I happily still spend time with kids at church, but am thrilled to be a part of the Treetops team and LOVE the honor of assisting Brides and Grooms with their unique plans for their BIG DAY.



Allen Ballard :: Sales Manager

Being a native Michigander and having graduated from the U of M, he understands what this state goes through. Allen Ballard is your Group sales specialist/Manager, specializing in Golf groups of 20 or more, social groups, military groups, education groups, religious groups and fraternal groups.  He has been with the Treetops team since March of 2010.  Prior to joining the Treetops Team, he lived in Arkansas since the mid-eighties and has been working in the golf industry since 2006.  In March of 2014 he was extremely honored to be named a "Star of the Industry" for Sales and Marketing at the Governor's Conference on Tourism. As a year round resident of the community his business philosophy is maximizing customer satisfaction by providing clients with a highly professional and proactive experience, and he looks forward to helping you plan an event that exceeds your expectations and having a truly Spectacular event.



David Hellenberg :: National Sales Manager

Corporate Market

I graduated from Northwood Institute (University) with a degree in hotel/restaurant management and have been in the hospitality industry since 1987 and in the sales end of it since 1989 working at various locations in mid and northern Michigan.  In fact, I spent 10 years (1992-2002) at Treetops in the sales office planning and executing successful events year after year.  I returned to Treetops in March 2011 again as a Sales Manager booking golf groups, corporate groups and more.  In the fall of 2014 I took the position as National Sales Manager to concentrate on the corporate market from all geographic locations.  I am also a member of the Meeting Planners International, Michigan Chapter (MMPI) and Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE).    


Michael Andrews :: Sales Manager

Government and Associations

I attended Northwood University in Midland and have been in Business Management for 32 years, I was a store manager for Discount Tire Company in Denver Colorado for 12 years until returning home in 1994 to start my own business in Medical Equipment sales until 2008. I then worked for Ecolab as a Territory Manager selling directly to the Hospitality Industry until this past summer when I joined Treetops Resort as a Group Sales Manager responsible for the Association and Government Markets. I am lucky to live in this beautiful area just a mile from Treetops. I look forward to hosting you for any future events.


Tony Vaden :: Sales Manager

SMERF and Corporate

I am a Group Sales Manager for Golf, Ski and SMERF markets. I am a Michigan native with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, 9 of those years spent right here at Treetops Resort. I grew up in Detroit area but now call Northern Michigan home. I am a big sports fan and enjoy golf, racquetball, tennis, mountain biking and most things in the great outdoors. I believe dependability and integrity are the foundation of professional and personal success, and look forward to helping you make your event fun and memorable here at Treetops Resort.


Alex Hughes :: Sales Manager

Golf Groups between 16 and 20 players

I am a Group Sales Manager for golf groups between 16-20 people.  I have lived in Michigan my entire life and moved to Gaylord in December of 2008. I have been at Treetops ever since, first as an Assistant Golf Professional and now in Sales when I started in November of 2014. Being that I was a golf pro for six years, I’m very aware of everything about our golf courses and can make sure that you are very knowledgeable about everything you need to know about your golf event.  I am a big sports fan, which includes Detroit Sports and Michigan State University. I love living in Michigan and there is no better place to play golf than Northern Michigan. I look forward to hosting your next golf event at Treetops Resort, Michigan’s Most Spectacular Resort.
