         Recently named to the position of Director of Sales for Treetops Resort, Michigan’s Most Spectacular Resort, Russell D. Glasby brings over 20 years of experience in business management, strategic planning and resource allocation.  Glasby’s progressive background includes experience in leadership roles within the hospitality industry including golf course management; food and beverage management; building, grounds and maintenance management; marketing; retail operations; and customer service programs.

          I started my hospitality career here at Treetops back in 1986. I worked at the Front Desk for several years and then became the Reservations Manager before entering the Sales World. The Hospitality world is one that is ever changing, sometimes challenging but always fun! I have had the privilege to have worked at three wonderful Northern Michigan Resorts within my 27+ years in the business and have loved them all, however to me; Treetops will always remain "my home."

         Throughout my career I have been blessed to form many long standing relationships with my clients in the Association and Government Market Segment. I enjoy working the many facets of Sales; as no two client’s meetings are ever the same. My job is to enable my clients to experience a stress free, seamless meeting where they can shine like the stars that they are.

         I am honored to be a member of the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) and the Society of Governmental Meeting Planners (SGMP).

          I was raised in Big Rapids, Michigan where I attended Ferris State University.  I graduated from Ferris in 1999 with an Associates Degree in Food Service and Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management.  My internship were taken in Vail, Colorado and Hilton Head, South Carolina working in various departments from restaurants to housekeeping.  I remained in Hilton Head, and spent the next 10 years as Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager and Catering Manager at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa.  My husband, Bryan, and I were married there in 2003 and our son, Gage arrived in 2006.  Wanting to be closer to home, my family moved back to Michigan in 2008 and I am enjoying the most satisfying part of my career yet, working here at Treetops Resort.  

          I am also a member of the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE). And I specialize in Financial, Insurance, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Construction, and Day Meetings/Banquets.

          Hello, my name is Allen Ballard and I am the Golf Group Sales Manager that handles group of 20 or more golfers.  I have been with the Treetops team since March of 2010.  I am native to Michigan, coming from Swartz Creek.  I have lived in Arkansas since the mid-eighties and have been working in the golf industry since 2006.  It is my pleasure to work with group sizes of 20 or more golfers.  I also work during the winter ski season as the Director of Guest Activities.  So when you're here during our four seasons of events, you may have already seen me. My life saying is "Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world."

          I graduated from Northwood Institute (University) with a degree in hotel/restaurant management.  I have been in the hospitality industry since 1987 and in the sales end of it since 1989 working at various locations in mid and Northern Michigan. In fact, I spent 10 years (1992-2002) at Treetops in the sales office planning and executing successful events year after year. I returned to Treetops in March of 2011 again as Sales Manager to work with all market segments, including golf groups, corporate events and association conferences within all geographic locations.

          I am a member of the Michigan Chapter of the Meeting Professionals International (MMPI). I specialize in Medical, Automotive, Engineering, Advertising, Consulting, Law/Legal and Local Area Business markets.
